Tanya co-founded the award-winning non-profit car-sharing organization PhillyCarShare, serving as its original executive director. During startup Tanya set up all operational processes and ran the organization single-handedly for several months. As tens of thousands of residents and businesses signed up, she built efficiencies in systems, processes, and technology that enabled staff to manage the tremendous growth. As the organization grew, Tanya mentored and trained staff to handle all operations, and continued to evolve every aspect of the business. Aided by significant government funding received from 2006 to 2008, PhillyCarShare grew into the fastest-growing and largest regional car-sharing organization in the world with over 50,000 enrollments by mid-2008.
At present, Tanya works with several car-sharing clients in their start-up and growth phases, and with government entities to evaluate the opportunities to incorporate car-sharing programs into their fleet-management practices. In addition, Tanya provides executive-level consulting to GRID magazine, which covers topics about sustainable living in Philadelphia.
Tanya holds a Master in City and Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a executive-level Bachelor degree in Design from the University of California at Davis. In recognition of her assertive leadership, technological prowess, and unequivocal commitment to PhillyCarShare, the Philadelphia Business Journal has recognized Tanya as one of Philadelphia's outstanding "40 Under 40".
